Your habit data is stored locally on your device by default. Optional features like cloud sync and anonymous analytics may transmit limited data as described below.
Stride is a habit tracking app for iOS and macOS. We believe your personal habits are your business and no one else's. This privacy policy explains how Stride handles your data.
All habit data you create in Stride is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data is not sent to any external server unless you opt in to the cloud sync feature.
Stride uses Apple's App Groups to share your habit data between the main app and the home screen widget. This data sharing happens entirely on your device.
If you choose to create an account and enable cloud sync, your habit data is transmitted securely (via HTTPS) to our server solely for the purpose of syncing across your devices. We do not access, analyze, or share your habit data. Sync is entirely optional — the app is fully functional without it.
Stride does not require you to create an account. If you choose to use the sync feature, you will need to sign in with your email address. Your email is stored securely on our server and is used only for authentication purposes. We do not send marketing emails or share your email with third parties.
Stride uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data (such as app launches and feature usage). This helps us understand how the app is used and improve it.
Stride does not collect any of the following:
Stride may send you optional push notifications to remind you about your habits. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device and are not routed through any external server. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through the app or your device settings.
Stride offers optional subscriptions through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID. For information about how Apple handles your payment data, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.
All local data can be deleted at any time by deleting the app from your device. If you have used the cloud sync feature and wish to delete your server-side data, you can use the "Delete Account" option in Settings. This will permanently remove your account and all synced data from our server.
Stride does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the app functions fully without an account or data collection, no special provisions are necessary for offline use.
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
