Terms of Use (EULA)

By installing or using the RoastMate AI iOS, iPadOS, macOS, or watchOS app (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use, which serve as the End User License Agreement (EULA) between you and Yuhe Ye ("we", "us"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What RoastMate AI is

RoastMate AI is a creative writing and emotional expression tool. Calm, Sharp, Savage, and the "Make it sendable" rewrite use Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. The Vent and Feral private-draft intensities default to our developer-owned Cloudflare Worker that forwards prompts to a third-party LLM provider for stronger cathartic output, which you can disable in Settings → AI & Privacy → Stronger Vent / Feral (Cloud AI).

RoastMate AI is not intended for:

• Targeting, harassing, defaming, or bullying any specific person
• Producing threats, hateful content, slurs, or unlawful speech
• Stalking, doxxing, or any form of abuse

The App automatically filters input and output to remove names, threats, and slurs. The filter is conservative but not perfect; you are responsible for what you share.

2. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

• Submit inputs that describe self-harm, violence, or stalking. (The App may refuse such inputs and direct you to appropriate support.)
• Use the App to harass an individual or group.
• Share generated content in a way that violates the rights of any person, including defamation, privacy, or harassment law in your jurisdiction.
• Attempt to defeat the safety filter (Safe Mode is enabled by default and should remain enabled).
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the prompts and style catalog for re-use in another product.

You confirm that you are at least 17 years old.

3. Auto-renewing subscriptions

The App offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, RoastMate Pro, in two billing periods:

• RoastMate Pro Monthly — 1 month — US $2.99 (or local equivalent)
• RoastMate Pro Yearly — 1 year — US $19.99 (or local equivalent), with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers

Pro unlocks: Vent and Feral private-draft intensities, Savage intensity, unlimited generations, all 20+ writing styles, parallel multi-style generation, multi-turn Argument Simulator, and unlimited history.

Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device, or via the App's Settings → Manage Subscription link.

Free trial. If a free trial is active and you cancel before it ends, you will not be charged. Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Once charged, no refunds are offered for partial periods, except as required by law or by Apple's refund policy.

Price changes. We may adjust prices in the future. Existing subscribers will receive notice in line with Apple's policies and may be required to consent to the new price for renewal to continue.

4. Credit packs (non-subscription)

The App also sells optional consumable credit packs as non-subscription In-App Purchases. Credits add additional generations and rewrites and do not unlock Pro-only intensities (Vent, Feral, Savage) or Pro-only features. Credits do not expire on a fixed schedule but may be reset if you delete the App. Credits are non-refundable except as required by law or Apple's refund policy.

5. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and the Usage Rules in Schedule A of those terms. This license terminates automatically if you violate these Terms.

6. Disclaimer

The App generates text via Apple's on-device Foundation Models or, for the Vent / Feral cloud path, via a third-party LLM provider reached through our Cloudflare Worker proxy. Output quality, tone, and accuracy will vary. You should review every generated response before using it in any conversation. We make no warranty about fitness for a particular purpose, including any social, professional, or legal outcome of using generated text.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We are not liable for any consequence arising from how you use generated text, including but not limited to harm to relationships, employment, social standing, or legal exposure.

7. Privacy

See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled. Short version: most modes generate locally on your device; Vent and Feral default to a cloud proxy we operate (which forwards to a third-party LLM), and that routing can be disabled in Settings.

8. Apple as third-party beneficiary

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple, and that we (not Apple) are solely responsible for the App and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance and support for the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you upon your acceptance.

9. Changes

These Terms may change. If they do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post a notice in the App at the next launch. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
